Orgyen Mindrol Ngedon Gatsaling
Ven. Lama Tenkyap La
Lama Tenkyab was born in Gangtok, Sikkim in 1960. In 1973, he was ordained at Ngedon Gatshal Ling (Mindroling Monastery) and dedicated the next ten years to mastering prayers and rituals.
Following this, he spent a year under the guidance of Minyak Lama Gyalwang Nyima, who imparted teachings on the Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas. Additionally, Lama Tenkyab studied the Synopsis of Tibetan Grammar (Sum rtags bsdus bsdoms), a composition by Minyak Lama himself.
After that, Lama Tenkyab delved into the study of various Authoritative Expositions (gzhung chen) for a period of eight years under the tutelage of Pekoe Gyalsey Rinpoche.
In 1979, Lama Tenkyab received the empowerments of the Treasury of Precious Termas (Rin chen gter mdzod) from Kyabje Dorje Chang Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. Accompanying this empowerment, he also received the oral transmissions (lung) from Kyabje Dodrup Rinpoche.
Lama Tenkyab was elected as the representative ('chithue') of the Nyingma tradition during the 11th Tibetan parliamentary election in exile, held in 1991. Currently Lama Tenkyab serves as the joint secretary of the Orgyen Mindroling Monastery in India.
Palyul Thegchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargyeling
Ven. Khenpo Orgyen Rangdrol
Khenpo Ogyen Nyima Rinpoche entered Namdroling Monastery at the age of thirteen. He received the basic monastic training like reading and writing Tibetan, memorizing and chanting scriptures, performing religious rites and rituals including ritual dance, constructing butter sculptures and playing religious instruments. In the fall of 1992, Namdroling Monastery sent him to Tsechu Monastery, at Darjeeling to perform Buddhist rites and rituals for the benefit of local residents who need spiritual guidance and care.
In 1996, he enrolled in Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, the prestigious monastic college of our monastery, where he studied Buddhist philosophy and practice for nine years under many renowned scholars. He also received many important, sacred, secret and esoteric teachings of Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, His Holiness Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche and many other great masters of Tibetan Buddhism. Especially, he studied and mastered the art of Cham - the sacred Buddhist ritual dance and other rituals activities under many experienced masters from 2000 to 2007; he took the responsibility of teaching ritual dance at Namdroling monastery and overlooking religious ceremonies.
After completing his monastic college, he was appointed to the post of general secretary of Namdroling Monastery administration by the late His Holiness Penor Rinpoche in 2007, where he served for four years till 2011.
On 18th March, 2011, in recognition to his knowledge and capability, His Holiness Karma Kuchen Rinpoche formally enthroned him as Khenpo (Professor of Buddhist Philosophy) and conferred the certificate of "Doctorate in Buddhist Philosophy".
In August 2017, HE Mugsang Kuchen Tulku Rinpoche, the head of Palyul Namdroling Monastery in India, appointed Khenpo Ogyen Nyima to be Singapore's Resident Dharma Teacher.
Khenpo is well-versed in performing religious rites and rituals, as well as teaching of the Buddha Dharma. He will greatly benefit Singapore’s Palyul students in learning and practicing the Dharma.
Dzogchen Orgyen Samten Choeling
Ven. Khenpo Jamphal Tenzin La
Ven. Khenpo Jamphal Tenzin was born in Minyak, Tibet, and became a monk at a young age. He received his intensive study of Tibetan Buddhist education at the biggest Buddhist University, Serta Larung Gar, and achieved great results and top ranked in Sutra and Tanra traditional studies. With his top results, he accomplished two times of Buddhist deep philosophical analysis debates, thereafter he was bestowed with a title of Kyorpon by His Eminence Pema Kelsang Rinpoche, and then Khenpo (abbot) respectively by His Eminence Choktul Sonam Rabten Rinpoche, the root master of the Gyalpha Monastery. After coming to India, he took the responsibilities of teacher, administrator, chief editor, chief personal Secretary, and many others at the Dzogchen monastery in accordance with His Eminence Dzogchen Rinpoche’s wishes. He was then appointed as the chief abbot (Khenpo) of the Dzogchen Monastery. He has served as an executive member of the Bhodgaya His Holiness the khenchen jigmephuntsok Rinpoche ’s great funeral prayer services for two consecutive terms. He has always rendered his support to the underprivileged ones with medical care, financial aid, scholarships, and so forth. He has also published two notable books in Tibetan which launched in Tibet.
He was elected as the member of the 16th and 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and has spearheaded tabling bills on different issues including the preservation of Tibetan language and culture.
Shechen Tennyi Dargye Ling
Ven. Khenpo Gyurme Tsultrim
Khenpo Gyurme Tsultrim was born in the Mugu district of western Nepal in 1969 where he studied reading and writing with his uncle. When he was thirteen, he met Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and became one of the first monks at Shechen Tennyi Dargyeling Monastery in Nepal. In 1985, as the Shechen Philosophical College was not yet built, Khyentse Rinpoche sent him to the Dzongsar Monastic College in India for higher studies. He studied there for six years and then completed the last three years of his study at the Palyul Nyingmapa College in Mysore, India.
He became the first monk of Shechen Monastery, Nepal, to attain the rank of Khenpo, the equivalent of Ph.D. in 1996. Presently Khenpo Gyurme Tsultrim is the vice-abbot of the monastery, and teaches at its College. He has traveled to Europe a number of times to give teachings and he oversees many of the activities of the monastery.
